Build a elementary school, initial level is maybe a small building, and a lot of open grass, parking, wasted space. Buildings that upgrade - like the last Sim City (as I recall). Let me make cruddy areas that still have a function and serve a need. Today I feel compelled to make super-pristine, perfect cities. Loud and crime, low land value but people will still live there. However, if you have a huge city (think Manhattan), people will tolerate the gridlock because there is so much appeal with jobs, amenities, etc. For example, if you have a small city and it has bad traffic, this might keep the land value low and cause issues. Allowing the city to still thrive even if there are big issues. My biggest fear is there is somehow a unexpected change that makes the game too limiting, controlled, or otherwise not as 'powerful' to build as the current game is. When I go back and look at Sim City 4, I am always shocked how good that collection of buildings looked. All the latest DLC looked much more real-life, so optimistic about this. I hope the 'cuteness' of the first version of the original game is gone for good. Trying to add zany elements and gimmicks is probably going to do more harm than good. I don't mean basic, I mean the base game can be fairly straight forward and honest (like how the original was). Very exciting day, it's officially REAL! And sincerely, a huge congratulations to the CS team.
